We like free tools. A lot.
Toolwatch is a frequent’ish review of some scheweeet tools that’s made our lives easier… not to mention saving hairlines. Here’s our selection for the week:
gomockingbird.com – Allows you to make mock-ups and wireframes quick and easy. It supports all the nifty bits you’d normally use (e.g. shapes, links, and text) and even allows you to export to a PDF or PNG file. It’s great for freelancing on the move.
ajaxload.info – When using Ajax, it is customary to include a small animated gif file that gets displayed while JavaScript fetches the information from the server. At Ajaxload, they generate those animated gif files as per your order: No more complicated software – simply click, click, voila!

Flux – Jobroller Child Theme
JobSuggest – Jobroller Plugin
Good suggestions! But although Mockingbird is an excellent suggestion it is not strictly “free”. Another alternative and a good one if you are a web designer on a budget is the Pencil Project by the Mozilla foundation. It’s completely free as it’s just a firefox plugin and you can do some nifty UI prototyping using various stencils.
